SUMMARY:Ohio Solar Energy - Technology\, Regulatory\, and Financing Updates
DESCRIPTION:Join us at our September meeting for an insightful update on Ohio’s solar energy opportunities\, technical improvements\, and regulatory environment. Anthony Manna and Shawn DaVis will bring unique view points from both the installer/developer and non-profit economic development perspectives. \nSome topics that will be covered include: \n\n\nSolar & storage market state + forecast\n\n\nTechnical improvements in solar / storage\n\n\nHow to evaluate feasibility for energy projects\n\n\nHighlights of completed local projects\n\nRegulatory updates\nTax and financial incentives available to commercial and industrial users\n\n  \nAnthony Manna is President of Hello Sunray\, a commercial energy company helping organizations evaluate\, develop\, and execute solar\, energy storage\, and broader energy strategies.  Drawing on a background in entrepreneurship\, management consulting\, and finance\, Anthony focuses on bridging the technical\, financial\, and utility considerations that shape complex energy investments.  He holds an MBA in finance from Case Western Reserve University and works with commercial and institutional customers to navigate project economics\, utility requirements\, procurement\, and implementation.  His work is centered on turning energy opportunities into executable projects and helping organizations move from initial concept through real-world deployment. \n  \nShawn DaVis is the Vice President of Sustainability and Energy Programs at the Greater Cleveland Partnership (GCP). With over 20 years of Economic Development experience\, he is a strong resource for the business community\, providing leadership and resources to businesses in the Cleveland MSA with a focus on the GCP’s membership. In his current role\, he oversees GCP’s sustainability and energy programs and initiatives. This strategic leadership role oversees programs\, manages key internal and external stakeholder relationships\, and serves as liaison to all GCP strategic pillars to advance sustainability and Energy goals in our region. \nPrior to joining GCP\, Shawn spent 10 years in various roles in the automotive manufacturing sector including: Plant Manager\, Process Engineer\, Constraint Management leader\, Lean Manufacturing Trainer\, CNC programmer and entrepreneur. \nMr. DaVis also worked 6 years at the Federal Bureau of Investigation in Cleveland. \nMr. DaVis is a Cleveland native who holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering from Cleveland State University\, and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Case Western Reserve’s Weatherhead School of Management. \n  \nLunch will be served at 11:30am with the presentation beginning at 12:00pm. \nRegistration deadline is Tuesday\, September 22 at 5:00PM EST.
